pursuing anatomy
This year is mostly gonna be about human anatomy and whatnot. Damn lots of stuff to get across, but I am definitely looking forward to it. By now, my anatomy just sucks, but never late to get it right ;)

first live shooting
Few days ago I spent whole day shooting gorgeous model named Terezka. It's hilarious experience and I would spend my last money doing this for the rest of my life :)
So stay tuned, next few posts will be about her.
Although my strokes are so crude and expressive, I can tell you she's so damn cute ;)

pen sketches
Pen is a great tool, I don't handle it well, but it's another way of looking at things and it's a great source of learning general draftsmanship. In this very limited world I can really focus on the important. I'm sketching from life and movies mostly.

Hello everybody watching this blog, I am Michal Zelenak aka Siiilon and this is my first post. This blog is meant to be a place where I share my studies and explorations in picture making and design.
As a first post I'm showing you my little figure studies done with supersoft graphite pencil (5B GoldFaber, my favorite). It's very versatile and quick way to put things down, no erasing, no overrender, just basic block-in and very broad mark making. I am focusing on making things readable and appealing. Failures here are so frequent, that it shouldn't be a reason for anything else but learning :)
